Qualification for township

This is a work in progress so feel free to contribute any ideas or criticisms you may have.

My thoughts are that towns are going to be too easy to come by and everyone will end up being Mayor class. This I think takes some of the fun out of the game and it's dynamics. Along with adding another player class, which will be announced (once I can think of one), there will be a set of requirements that must be met before one can be given Mayor status and assigned a town. These are the preliminary requirements...
  1. The town must be connected to a road or train network that reaches the Origin Visitor Center. These roads must be at least 4 meters wide (that's 4 blocks) and a mounted light source at least every 20 blocks (not just a torch plopped on the side of the road). I'm undecided as to whether rail will require lighting or not yet
  2. The edge of each town must be a minimum distance of 500m from the edge of any other town.
  3. A qualifying town must have at least 10 available houses or vacant lots of at least 25 sq. meters minimum each and connected to the town pathway or road network.
  4. Must have some sort of community center or service. This can be interpreted as a community pool, theater, arena, mini golf or anything for entertainment and must be complete and functional (not just eye candy)
  5. In addition to this, there must also be a town hall, also connected to the internal pathway or road system.
  6. And a either a wheat, cane or cactus farm of at least 300 square meters
Included with this eventually will be an upkeep for towns that must be met. If this upkeep (whatever it may be) the town will change hands at the next opportunity. I haven't worked out this yet either and am open to suggestions.

Thanks,
MinerMajor
